KEENLISIDE, Helen Louise (née LIGHTHEART) - Peacefully at Mount Hope LTC, London, on January 12, 2018 in her 98th year. Loving mother of sons John (Christiane Carbonneau) and Lynn. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer Dale, Jeffrey, Leanne and Kevin Keenliside. Beloved great-grandmother of Alex and Helena Keenliside and Emma and Evan Dale. She will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. The eldest child of Arthur James and Florence Mae (Hill) Lightheart of Beachville, Ontario. Helen's siblings include: William (Bill) Robert, Shirley Maxine, June Mary, Jack Arthur, Kathleen (Kay) Violet, Gerald Allen, James Edward, Norma Joan and D'Arcy Carl. A veteran of WWII, Helen proudly served as a 'WREN' with the WRCNS as a photographer in Halifax - a time she always fondly remembered. In later life she was the president of the London chapter of the WRENS association for several years. Her sons are grateful to the 2nd floor staff at Mount Hope, for their wonderful care and compassion over the past few years. Family and friends will be received at the Rose Chapel, 6675 Burtwhistle Lane, London (401 and Col Talbot Rd) Saturday, 20 January, from 1 pm until the service at 2 pm with the Rev. Donald R. Keenliside officiating. A reception will follow at the Best Western, Stoneridge Inn adjacent to the chapel. Interment in the Beachville Cemetery will be at a later date.
