William Thomas Dodge

Died: 1985, Adeytown, Newfoundland

 

DODGE, William Thomas - born September 10, 1900, was the son of James and Jessie (Critch) Dodge and step-brother of Seaman George Critch. He was assigned to the HMS Briton, formerly the HMS Calypso, on January 15, 1917.

 

Upon completion of his training he was sent to the Royal Navy to the Royal Canadian Navy at Halifax where he served 5 months at the HMCS Stadacona and HMCS Seagull. While serving he spent his naval career on the CD-28 until the end of the war.

 

After his demobilization, he returned home for a short period of time before leaving for work in the United States where he met and married Isabella Hiscock. They settled at Everett, Massachusetts and raised their family. After the death of wife he returned to Newfoundland and lived at Adeytown until his death in 1985.
