Chief ERA Halvor Vilhelm Liab° joined the RCNR on August 22, 1940 and was a 2nd engineer on a Norwegian whaler in civil life. He was born in Christiangund, Norway.  Chief Liab° died when lost overboard near Barry Road, Northern Ireland, from HMCS SAINT JOHN.
