KROCHENSKI, Peter - passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the age of 95 years. Peter was born on November 27, 1917 at Fraserwood, Manitoba. He moved to the Kindersley, Saskatchewan area in 1926. Peter attended Mornington rural school until 1934. In 1935 he moved to the Thunder Bay, Ontario area to work in the lumber camps. He enlisted in the Canadian Navy in 1940, where he served until 1946. Peter worked at various jobs in British Columbia until 1960, and moved to California, where he spent 21 years with the Title Insurance & Trust Company at Los Angeles. Peter returned to Canada in 1983 and retired in Calgary. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Ignatz and Anastasia; his sisters Helen Kuz and Mary Grocholski; and his brother Paul. He is survived by his sisters Anne Mazzei, Sister Valerie (SSMI) and by his brother Walter (Barbara), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The whereabouts of his brother Stanley is unknown. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Catholic Church (corner of Northmount Drive and Northland Drive N.W.) on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall. A Graveside Service will follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at Colonel Belcher for the care extended to Peter.
