In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
SACKFIELD, Clifford Sidney - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, Clifford Sidney Sackfield on April 21, 2021 at the age of 91.
Left to mourn him are son, Nick Bryant (Susan), daughters, Sheree Sanford, Kathie Mitchell, and Lynn Sackfield. Also grandchildren, Robert, Melissa, Jeff, Amy, Angie, William, Mandy, Sarah, Matt, Shawn and 15 great-grandchildren.
Dad has joined his loving wife, Jean (nee Moore), and daughter, Tanna Patterson.
Dad was born and raised in Ontario. He joined the Navy in 1948 and saw a lot of the world while serving on 15 different ships, bases and courses here and over seas.
After retiring from the navy, Dad worked for the Nova Scotia government at the weigh stations in Enfield and Rocky Lake Quarry.
Mom and Dad met in BC in 1954. Dad's next posting was to NS, so that is where they moved to and raised their family.
Dad enjoyed scuba diving, bowling, reading, watching sports, and more recently chasing the squirrels away from the bird feeder.
He was an avid Blue Jay and Maple Leaf's fan.
Family was always important. Mom and Dad took a trip and drove across Canada, stopping to visit family along the way.
Dad was active in the Legion, serving as president in 1976 and 1977. He enjoyed working on the Poppy Campaigns at the airport, meeting and chatting with all the different people. He especially liked playing Santa at the Enfield Legion Christmas parties and at several nursing homes.
He has been living at Camp Hill Veteran’s Bldg. for the past year.
We would like to thank the great staff of 6 West at Camp Hill for his care and friendship.
Cremation has taken place and no funeral service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care, War Amps, Camp Hill, or a charity of your choice.
