SIMENAC, Melvin William - age 76 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2021, surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Fort William, he was a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay. Mel was a strong, kind, dedicated man to his family and he was always there for everyone no matter what. He would always bring joy, love and laughter to everyone who knew him.

Mel was a retired veteran with our Canadian Navy, he was always so inspirational with his stories of his Navy days. Mel then worked for Avenor/Bowater and was a roll grinder operator until his retirement in 2001. He was a man who loved to be an adventurer, taking many trips, fishing trips and camping adventurers with family and friends. Mel had touched everyone he met in his own unique and special way.

Dad, we love you and miss you. Melvin is survived by his beloved wife Linda, daughter Jody (Brian), grandchildren Amber, Jade, and Madison, brother Larry (Linda) of Lethbridge, Alberta, sister Pat (Terry) Stewardson of Thunder Bay, sister- in-law Judy and his friend and companion, Marley. Many nephews and nieces, and other relatives also survive. Mel was predeceased by his mother Olga (2013), father William (1979), brothers Allan (2003), Jerry (2019), and daughter Stacey (2018). A celebration of life will follow for the family at a later time.

Should friends so desire, please donate to the Muscular Dystrophy Canada in Mel's memory.
