Died: 16 Jan 2004, Surrey, British Columbia

 

WILKIE, Jean Stevenson (née CURRIE) - Born in Broxburn, Scotland June 21, 1905; passed away January 16, 2004, Morgan Place Care Facility. Predeceased by husband William Wilkie in 1980, mother Annie Currie, father William Currie, sister Annie McCluney and brother William Currie. Jean joined the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service in April, 1923. She served until June, 1946 and continued to be a dedicated active member of the Wren Association. She married William Wilkie on October 2, 1946 and moved to Ladner where she resided for 56 years. She will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Delta Funeral Home, 5329 Ladner Trunk Road, Delta. Note: Jean's obituary says she joined the WRCNS in 1923. This is likely 1943 as the WRCNS was not stood up until 1942.
