GRANT, Roy Darwin - Passed away peacefully on November 19, 2021 at 97 years of age. Predeceased by his wives Madeline (Wright) and Joan (Grierson). Loving father of Barbara King (Carl), Carl Grant (Annabel), and Bonnie Grant. Will be missed by his six grandchildren, Danielle Garant (George), Brian King (Carrie), Christopher Grant (Roseanne) Michael Grant (Tanya), Evan Dey (Melissa) and Nicolas Casagrande (Ashley). Great grandpa and old pipi to his five great grandchildren Katie, Noah, Nash, Ashley, Hailey and Vaile Elizabeth. Predeceased by his siblings Lloyd Grant (Mae), Donald Grant (Lorraine), Marvin Grant (Patricia), Glenn Grant (Virginia), Harold Grant, Murray Grant (Kay), Nora Brush (Clyde), Irene Purvis (Roger). Roy retired from Allied Chemical and worked a small farm in Malden Township. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Roy was a cook in the Navy during WWII. A member of RCL Branch 157. Recipient of the Quilt of Valour, and the Chiefs Award of Excellence from the Amherstburg Police Service. The family extends their appreciation and thanks to Richmond Nursing Home and especially to Dawn, who gave dad that extra special time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Legion Branch 157 (Building Fund). Visiting on Tuesday November 23, 2021 from 1-3 and 5-8 pm. RCL Branch 157 prayers at 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 24, 2021 at 11am at Families First 585 Sandwich Street South, Amherstburg. Reservations and personal face coverings are required to attend both events. Interment to take place at Rosehill Cemetery. (The Windsor Star 20 Nov 2021)
