WOOLSEY, Leonard Rutledge - Left us peacefully in his 86th year with his children at his side. Loving husband of the late (Mary) Alice Dickson; father of the four D's - Diane, Doug, Dixie and Debby; their spouses Joe, Linda, Dave and Jim; Grandpa to 7 grandchildren (J, Luke, Matt, Mark, Kevin, Johnny, Kate) and 2 great-grandchildren (Jake, Kash). Survived by his brothers and sisters Ardelle Kuchinka (George), Maynard, Marlene Dow (Hazen) and Clair (Remy). Preceded by his parents Hulbert and Barbara, and brothers Hulbert, Horace, Eldon, Boyd, Donald, Rowland, and Gerald. Born in Penzance, Saskatchewan in 1922; Navy Veteran of WWII; Mechanical Engineering graduate of The University of Saskatchewan; Senior Executive with Gulf Oil and Scotiabank; volunteer with the Better Business Bureau of Canada, Council for Canadian Unity, United Way and the YMCA. Len especially loved family reunions in Muskoka over the last 26 years, the Donalda Club where he was a Charter Member and Past President, and the many friends he made in Canada, Texas and beyond. There will be a private family service. In memory of Len, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. In Heaven the Roughriders win the Grey Cup, the Leafs win the Stanley Cup and a band of angels are playing the boom-bass and the gut-bucket. At the Ultimate 19th Hole there will be a short, sharp one in center field waiting for you. Rest easy Dad, and give Mom a hug from all of us. We miss you already. Love always, the four D's. (The Toronto Star 19 Oct 2008)
