SCALES, Alfred Eric, AB, V10996, RCNVR, died - 05 May 1943 - HMCS COLLINGWOOD - Son of Alfred George Scales and Mary Jennie Scales of  Regina, Saskatchewan.

 

Alfred was born at Regina and was an apprentice butcher at Avenue meat market when he enlisted on Mach 16, 1942 at Regina, Saskatchewan, HMCS QUEEN. AB A. E. Scales committed suicide while his ship was in Lisahally, Northern Ireland.

 

Note: While the CVWM shows he was rated as an OS when he died, his service file shows he was rated AB 09 Apr 1943, just shy a month prior to his death.
