KORMAN, Steve - Passed away peacefully December 24, 2021, at the age of 92. Steve proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 25 years, and enjoyed sharing his navy stories. After retiring from the Navy, he was caretaker at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica. A highlight was being in attendance at the mass performed by Pope John Paul II, in 1984. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Chief and Petty Officer’s Club, and a regular at the Newfoundland Club dances. He enjoyed darts, gardening, and the Sunday family dinners. Dad loved to dance, and being a perfect gentleman, he would always escort his dance partner back to their seat. He was a kind and dedicated family man, and will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Stephen (Joanne), Randy (Janet); his daughter, Lori (Jim), and his half-brother Alex in Ontario. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Mae; his sisters, Mary and Kaye, and half-brothers, Billy, Peter and Nick. Visitation will take place 6-9 p.m. Thursday, December 30th in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 31st, in Saint Catherine’s Church, 6476 Bayers Rd. Due to Provincial COVID-19 regulations proof of vaccination and identification will be required along with gathering size limits allowed to attend. In lieu of flowers or donations, please consider carrying out a random act of kindness. (Saltwire Network 29 Dec 2021)
