Died: 03 Jan 2009, Halifax, Nova Scotia

 

Charles married Amelia Dunford White on 20 Feb 1943.  According to their Marriage Register he was an Able Seaman in the Navy.

 

BERANGER, Charles Anthony - 90, of Halifax, passed away, January 3, 2009, at home. Born in River Bougeois, he was the son of the late William and Justine Beranger. Charles served overseas in the merchant marines, during the Second World War. He was an employee of Oland Breweries for 35 years. He was an avid hockey player for Oland's men's hockey team. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon, Mary, Gail (Eugenio) Medeiros, all of Halifax; sisters, Margaret (Joseph) Bouchard, River Bougeois; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife, Amelia; sons, Gerald, Paul; brothers, Arthur, Amable, Bert; sister, Mary. A private family service was held January 9, in J. A. Snow Funeral Home. Burial took place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. (The Chronicle Herald 26 Jan 2009)
