Daniel Albert Robert (Bob) King

Born: 27 Mar 1939

 

Died: 13 May 2022, Trout Lake, Nova Scotia

 

KING, Daniel Albert Robert - born March 27,1939 passed away suddenly at his cottage home on Trout Lake on May 13, 2022 with his wife, Joyce at his side. Bob, as he preferred to be called, served in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Stoker from 1958-1980. He served in the Royal Canadian Legion where he became a life member of Branch No. 1 Middleton. He held a number of executive positions in both Lawrencetown and Middleton branches. He bought a small farm and continued doing things he enjoyed, farming, talking with his CB friends, and loving his dogs and cats. Bob loved his Keith's beer and chewing tobacco which he gave up as his health deteriorated. He continued to enjoy an apple whiskey nightly as health permitted. Social activities were few due to severe vertigo, but he loved the quiet life at the lake with his wife and his beloved Havanese dog, Hoover. Bob was father to four daughters and one son: Charlene King, Dartmouth; Josephine (Ray) Cataford, Hampton; Nancy King, Bear River; Janice (Milton) Hamilton, West Paradise; Andrew (Tammy) Schofield, Inglisville; grandchildren, Christopher Cataford (Danielle) Serenity Cataford, Bobby King, Patricia (Josh) Delory, Ryan King, Stephen (Sarah) Bezanson, Kandis (Steven) Curtis, Ryan Schofield, Nikita Schofield (Spencer Lowe); great grandchildren, Olivia, Addelyn, Jordyn, Stevie, Evie, Gabrielle, Aria; brother, Edward (Peggy) Paradise; sister-in-law, Shirley, Surette Island. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Earl and May (Comeau) King, Bridgetown, and his younger, brother, Dave King. As per Bob's wishes he has been cremated. There will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 1 Middleton or charity of choice.
