VIVIAN, William D. - Peacefully at his home on October 26, 1999 at the age of 76, Bill passed away. Bill leaves behind his wife Nancy of 56 years; children, Dale (Michael), Bill (Judy), Judy, Chris (Roy) nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister Pat (Frank) sister-in-law Lu; and his "other son" Wally; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Jack and Bob, his daughter Sharon and brother-in-law and best friend Pete (Doc). Bill was born and raised in Winnipeg. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy in the Second World War. After the war, he raised his family while working for Canada Safeway as a Manager and District Manager until his retirement in 1985. Bill enjoyed life! Great times were spent at Falcon Lake and Perch Bay fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed hunting. For 20 years, he travelled to Hawaii with many family and friends. In his retirement years he was actively involved in the Legion and had many friends. Bill was a great person and will sadly be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Grey Street United Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Elmwood Legion-Wildlife Association at 920 Nairn Ave; or Winnipeg Harvest at 1085 Winnipeg Ave. Bills arrangements have been entrusted to: Voyage Funeral Home 220 Hespeler Avenue 668-3151 (The Winnipeg Free Press 28 Oct 1999)
