Clare Sherwood Hemeon

Died: 29 Apr 1995, Halifax, Nova Scotia

 

HEMEON, Clare Sherwood - 81, Halifax, died April 29, 1995, in Victoria General Hospital. Born in West Berlin, Queens County, he was a son of the late Bernard and Flora (Wagner) Hemeon and adopted son of the late Captain James N. and Emma (Crouse) Hemeon, with whom he resided until he joined the RCNVR in 1940. He served in patrol and escort craft and on the armed merchant cruiser Prince Henry. Following discharge in 1945, he served in the ship repair unit, Atlantic Electronic Division as foreman of gyro shop until retirement in 1978. Surviving are his wife, the former Bessie Dey; son, George; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Remby. Cremation has taken place. Burial at a later date in Fairview Cemetery.
