GILL, Arthur W.M. - With his loving family by his side on Saturday, August 23, 2008. Art served his country for 37 years, 20 with the Royal Canadian Navy and 17 with the Department of National Defence. Originally from Fogo Nfld, Art served in Halifax, San Diego, Burlington, Ottawa and on several Naval Ships before retiring to Iroquois, Ontario. Art is predeceased by his wife the former Ivy Bonnell and his sister Iris King; survived by his siblings Georgia Peterson, Doreen Cuff and Neil Gill; and children Valerie Ryan, Roma Glynn, Cindy Gill and Gerry Gill; grandchildren Lorna Murray, Andy Linfield, Dorianne Powell, Shea Dougherty-Gill, Rebecca, Clint and Lee Ryan and Tyson Gill; great-grandchildren Jordan, Jenna and Jewel Murray. With the help of copious amounts of Tabasco sauce Art defied the odds again and again, living his life on his own terms to the very end. Art will be honoured by his family and friends at the family home on Thursday, August 28 from 2-4pm. The family will hold a private internment service. In lieu of flowers donations to the Winchester Hospital Building Fund will be appreciated. Happy Sailing Dad!
