LOGAN, Murray Gordon - 83, passed peacefully on Friday June 17, 2022 in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, Sheet Harbour, with his loving wife and family by his side . Born November 5, 1938 in Harrigan Cove; he was a son of the late Clarence and Louise (MacDonald) Logan; he was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Murray spent most of his working life with his love of the ocean, proudly serving with the Royal Canadian Navy, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard. He would volunteer many hours in his community of Sheet Harbour, was a faithful member of St. Peters Catholic Church, Worshipful Master of Eureka Lodge #42, a member of Grand Lodge and the Shriners. He was a huge fan of the Montreal Canadians and his love of all sports was quite obvious as he would always be finding something sports related to watch on TV , or he could always find a classic movie for all to enjoy. An avid reader, particularly the histories of all wars especially WW 2, and the conspiracy theories of the JFK’s assassinations. His pride and his love of making Christmas ornaments to share and seeing the joy on the faces of everyone he would pass one on too. Survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Evelyn, daughter, Joyce (Kendall) Gerrard, son, Gord (Lorna), grandchildren, Ryan , Zachary (Alicia Horton), Holly (Jake Morgan), Matthew (Stacey), Josh (Kendra) and Kara (Devin Lawrence) and his 16 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters Helen and Mary. Visitation to be held Monday, June 20, 7 - 9 PM at D.S. Crowell & Son Funeral Home, Sheet Harbour. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, Sheet Harbour, Father Vincent officiating. Burial to follow at St. Peters Cemetery. Family flowers only.
