YEO, Beverly Marilyn (née SMITH) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bev Yeo; wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. At the age of 88, Bev passed peacefully at The Gardens at Qualicum Beach. She is survived by her four children Janice Aitken (Ron), Keith (Hazel), Clifford (Katherine) and Les (Laurie); ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Bev was born in Victoria, attended Victoria High School (Class of '51) and worked as a medical stenographer for over three decades. In 1952, Bev joined the Royal Canadian Naval Service as a Wren and shortly after met a sailor who became the love of her life. In 1954, Bev married Ken (deceased August 18, 2012) and they raised a family together in the Lake Hill community of Saanich. They then continued making memories and shared retirement together in Qualicum Beach. Bev had a passion for dance; from tap as a youngster, and to the dancehall with Ken, Bev danced her way well into her 80's continuing with tap and flamenco with her friends. Bev also loved to quilt and socialize with her friends from the local guild. But most of all, Bev will be lovingly remembered as a truly amazing matriarch with a kind and generous heart. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, September 29th at 2:00pm at the Royal Canadian Legion BR76, 180 Veterans Way, Qualicum Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pediatrics Ward of Victoria General Hospital in memory of Bev. (The Victoria Times Colonist 11 Sep 2022)
