Died: 15 Aug 2008, Sussex, Kings Co., New Brunswick

 

SECORD, Harry Paul (Jake) - The death of Harry “Jake” Paul Secord of Penobsquis occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on August 15, 2008 at the age of 79. Born at Penobsquis, he was the son of the late Paul and Annie Secord and was the husband of the late Audrey (Marr) Secord who passed away in 2002. Jake was a retired Master Warrant Officer with the Navy and a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Jake is survived by his daughters; Barb Polley (Gerald) of Smiths Creek, Wendy Secord (Rob Kellar) of Courteney, BC and Marilyn Trenholm (Barry) of New Glasgow, son Leslie Secord of Sussex, grandchildren; Jacob, Jason, Justin, Josh, Melissa, Paul and Danielle and a great granddaughter Taylor. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by sons; Harry Jr. and Daniel, daughter Judy Chestnut and his sister Marjorie Ratelle. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday August 19, 2008 at 11:00AM at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133). Donations made to any local charity would be appreciated. A private family interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park, Sussex. (Wallace Funeral Home)

 

The January 1956 issue of the Crowsnest lists Harry as a LS Torpedo Detector. The July 1962 issues lists him as a PO.
