WALKER, William Joseph (Bill) - age 79, of Dartmouth, passed away on September 1, 2022 in the Abbie J. Lane Memorial, QEII.
Born in Reserve Mines, he was a son of the late Edward and Dolly (Gouthro) Walker.
Bill joined the Navy at the age of 17. He served a full career as a Weapons Tech and retired as a CPO2. He then worked at Ben’s Bread as an industrial mechanic; and as a real estate agent and in his second retirement, continued to work as a Commissionaire. He enjoyed golfing, boxing, travelling and spending time with family. Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Elizabeth “Bettie” (Willis); son Michael; daughters, Sherri, Shauna (Darren); grandchildren, Jason, Adam, Cameron and Christian. He is also survived by his siblings, Arlene Wagner, Anita MacKenzie, and Vince (Charlene) Walker, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter Renee, and brother Edward Walker.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Thursday September 8th in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. The funeral service will take place at 2pm on Friday September 9th at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with a reception to follow. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
