WRIGHT, Charles Logan, Acting Sub-Lieutenant, RCN, 04 Dec 1954, HMCS NIOBE (on exchange) - Son of Reverend Ernest Arthur and Annetta (née Carr) Wright of Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Brother of Gordon Maguire, Helen Elizabeth and Marion Francis Wright.

 

On 04 Dec 1954, Charles was flying Fairey Firefly #WB3478, of 737 Sqn. Pilot SLT Charles Logan Wright died which his aircraft crashed when landing at Royal Naval Air Station Eglinton.

 

Royal Naval Air Station Eglinton or RNAS Eglinton was a Royal Naval Air Station located 1.3 miles (2.1 km) north east of Eglinton, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It opened as a Royal Air Force Station (RAF Eglinton) in 1941, before being transferred to the Fleet Air Arm in May 1943.
