Alexander George (Alex) Ramsay

Died: 22 Feb 2003, Winnipeg, Manitoba

 

RAMSAY, Alexander George - passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2003 at the St. Boniface General Hospital in Winnipeg. Alex is predeceased by his brother, Alfred; sisters, Peggy, Lillian and Kathleen. He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory is loving wife Ella; children, Robert, Sandra, Karen (Grant), Jim, Maxine (Karl) and Karen (Steve) many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his twin brother, David (Helen) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. Alex was born and raised in Winnipeg. He enlisted in the Navy during the Second World War and after the war re-enlisted in the Air Force. After his retirement from the services he began work in management of various golf and country clubs, eventually retiring to Wabigoon, Ontario. He has been an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion for the past 55 years. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Alexs memory to the Childrens Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2 as tokens of remembrance.
