Jean's brother, John McCormick, Stoker 1st Class, died 22 Feb 1945 when ship HMCS TRENTONIAN was torpedoed by U-1004, John's service file indicates Jean was ashore in the Halifax area serving in HMCS PEREGRINE at the time of his brother's death.
