WHITBY, Lorne, Able Seaman, Merchant Navy, MPK - 19 Jan 1942, SS LADY HAWKINS - Son of Muriel Whitby, of London, Ontario.

 

Lorne Whitby was lost due to enemy action when S.S. Lady Hawkins was hit by two stern torpedoes from U-66 and sank after 30 minutes about 150 miles from Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, U.S.A. on January 19, 1942.
