KAUFMAN, Richard (Dick) - It is with great sadness that we announce that Richard (Dick) Kaufman passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 3, 2022 at the age of 97. Loving husband of Elizabeth for 70 years. Beloved father of Diane (Glenn Carey) and Janet (Dave Hodgson). Proud grandfather of Kevin and Christopher Carey, Leanne (Ryan Fantham) and Laura (Daniel Brodie). Cherished great-grandpa of Carter and Lila Fantham. Dear brother of Shirley Oliver. Predeceased by his siblings Frieda, Art, Walt, John, Clara, Lil, Dave and Ted. Dick was born in Glenella Manitoba and moved to Wolseley Saskatchewan at age 5. In his teens, he moved to London Ontario where he began working for Emco Limited. In 1944, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served on a Corvette in the North Atlantic until the end of the war. He then returned to a sales position at Emco where he met his future wife, Liz. They were married in 1952 and celebrated their 70th anniversary this July. In 1965, he became the manager of the Guelph Emco branch until his retirement in 1991 after 50 years with the company. Dick enjoyed playing bridge for many years, travelling with Liz to Europe, Hawaii, and driving to Florida. He loved watching golf, hockey and especially the Toronto Blue Jays while enjoying a cold beer. He was a kind and gentle man with a quiet sense of humour and will be missed by many.
