STOKES, William Melville (Mel) - 65, 438 Mosher St., Kingston, died January 22, 1996, at home.

 

Born in London, Ont., he was a son of the late Harry and Kathleen (O'Callahan) Stokes.

 

He retired from the Royal Canadian Navy in 1970.

 

Surviving are his wife, the former Lorayne Buckley; son, John, Lantzville, B.C.; daughters, Kathy (Mrs. Ken Trimper) Bear River East; Lorayne (Mrs. Ron Cress) Clementsvale; Dena Stokes, Dartmouth; Marilyn (Mrs. Allan Browne) Palm Harbour, Fla.; brothers, Eugene, London, Ont.; Art, Sudbury, Ont.; 12 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

 

He was predeceased by brother, John.

 

Memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Lovis Roman Catholic Church, Annapolis Royal, Rev. David Stokes officiating.


Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annapolis Royal.
