SMITH, John Thomas - WWII Veteran, Jervis Bay Survivor.  Passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Veterans K-Wing, Sunnybrook Hospital. Remembered with love by his wife Alberta. Loving father of John and grandfather of Brittany of Victoria, B.C. Loving father of Nancy and her husband Peter and dear grandfather of Ryan and Jordan of Whitby, ON. At his request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Many thanks to the comforting nursing staff of K3C. HMS JERVIS BAY - Survived the sinking of HMS JERVIS BAY on 05 Nov 1940. The Armed Merchant Cruiser JERVIS BAY was sunk in action against the German pocket-battleship ADMIRAL SCHEER.
