LONEY, Donald Charles, Sto 1c, V63758, RCNVR, MPK - 08 Aug 1944, HMCS REGINA - Son of Silas J. and Maizie Loney, of Cornwall, Ontario. Prior to enlisting in the Navy, Donald Loney served in the Sormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders as a Bandsman from Jul 1942 to Sep 1942.

 

Sto 1c Loney died when HMCS REGINA was torpedoed and sunk off Trevose Head, Cornwall, England by U-667 while she was aiding a merchant vessel in distress. Thirty of her crew were lost.
