STRUM, Arnold L. - passed away Tuesday evening at his home in Clearland in his 49th year.

 

Mr. Strum was the son of the late Henry and Emily (Whynacht) Strum, who predeceased him a few years ago.

 

During the Second World War he served in the Royal Canadian Navy.

 

He was a member of the Canadian Legion of Mahone Bay.

 

A native of Clearland, Mr. Strum is survived by a widow. (The Halifax Chronile-Herald, Sat., 02 Jan 1954)

 


 

STRUM, Arnold L. - a well-known citizen of Clearland, passed awaay at his home on Tuesday evening, December 29th, in his 49th year.

 

Mr. Strum was a son of the late Henry and Emily (Whynacht) Strum, who predeceased him a few years ago.

 

During the Second World War he served in the Royal Canadian Navy.

 

He was a member of the Canadian Legion, branch 49, of Mahone Bay. Mr. Strum is survived by his widow, Emily (Wamback); two daughters, Gaile and Donna Lee; three sisters, Hannah (Mrs. William Hallaran) of Worcester, Mass., Mildred (Mrs. Clyde Zwicker) of Liverpool, N.S., and Jessie (Mrs. Earle Mosher) of Halifax; and two brothers, Edgar and Warren of Clearland.

 

The funeral service was held at his home on Saturday at 2:30 pm with Rev. L. C. Bald of St John`s Lutheran Church, Lunenburg, officiating, and attended by the Canadian Legion. Hymns sung were Òh God, Our Help in Ages Past`, `Rock of Ages`and Àbide With Me`.

 

Pall bearers were Guerney Hirtle, Brenton Lantz, Burrell Keddy, Ross Wentzell, Carroll Keddy and Wallace Veinotte.

 

Interment was in Clearland Cemetery. (The Bridgewater Bulletin, Wed., 06 Jan 1954) 

 


 

CLEARLAND - Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Strum, of Halifax, spent the Easter vacation with the formers parents Mr. and Mrs. Henry Strum.
On the way back they were accompanied by Warren Strum who will spend a week visiting his sister Mrs. Earle Mosher and brother Arnold Strum.(The Bridgewater Bulletin and The South Shore Register, Wed., 27 Mar 1940)
