Albert Merton Bingley

BINGLEY, Albert Merton (Al) - Age 83, formerly of Dartmouth, passed away suddenly Saturday, January 28, 2023 in Endicott, N.Y., where he resided with his family for many years. He was predeceased by his parents, Wallace and Bettie; and his wife of 58 years, Lois (Hoadley) originally of Rockingham. Al is survived by their sons, James (Anna) and Steven (Sharon) Bingley; grandchildren, Madeleine, Noah and Isaac; and siblings and spouses, Mayfred Closs, Ronald and Cindy Bingley, Linda Grant and Ross and Cindy Bingley along with several nieces and nephews. He served for 20 years in the Canadian Navy, meeting and marrying his bride, Lois, while stationed at Shearwater. He later worked for many years for IBM and retired as VP of Maritime Helicopter Programs. Together he travelled the world with Lois for work and as keen birdwatchers. A Celebration of Life for Al and Lois, who died December 21, 2020, was recently held in Owego, N.Y. (The Saltwire Network 14 Feb 2023)

 

BINGLEY, Albert Merton (Al) - 83, of Endicott, NY unexpectedly passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023. Al was predeceased by his parents, Wallace and Bettie Bingley; his wife of 58 years, Lois Bingley. Al is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Anna Bingley, Steve and Sharon Bingley; three grandchildren, Madeleine, Noah, Isaac; four siblings and their spouses, Mayfred Closs, Ronald and Cindy Bingley, Linda Grant, Ross and Cindy Bingley; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Al worked many years with IBM and later retired as vice president of the Maritime Helicopter Programs. The family will receive friends Monday, February 6, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY. A celebration to honor both Al and his wife, Lois will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 117 Main St., Owego, NY.
