GALE, John Sidney - It is with great sadness that the family of the late John S. Gale announce his passing at home with his Daughter and son-in-law by his side. He was 100 years old.
John was a veteran of WW2 and was awarded the following awards: 1939-1945 Star- Atlantic Star - Italy Star - Africa Star with North Africa; 1942-1943 Clasp - Defence Medal - War Medal 1939-1945 and Canadian Forces' Decoration and Clasp.
He was born in Port-aux-Basques, NL. He was the eldest Son of the late George and Jennie Gale. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his beloved daughter Dorothy Bernier (Jean-Marie) and his son James, grand-children Dennis Bernier (julie), Jerome Bernier (Heather Barnes) and Joshua Gale, 5 geat-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren. John was predeceased by his wife Jessie and brothers George, Jerome, Eugene, Fred, Lorne and sister Yvonne. He is survived by his brother Carl (Bertha).
No visitation by request. A graveside service will be held on Monday 6th March 2023 at 11a.m. (Atlantic Funeral Homes Dartmouth)
