Leslie George Bagley

Born: 1937, Nanaimo, British Columbia

 

Died: 17 Feb 2023

 

BAGLEY, Leslie George - Regrettably, the Bagley family sadly lost a father, grandfather and great-grandfather on February 17, 2023, at 85 years of age. Les passed away peacefully with family by his side, He was predeceased by his eldest Son Terry in 2016 and his wife Frances in 2018 Les will be sadly missed by Terry’s wife Cindy, son Robert and Glenna, daughter Sherri and son Bruce and Lorraine grandchildren Candace, Jordane, Phil, Taylor, Mathew, Great Grandchildren Mike, Landon and Lucas. Sisters Sheila, Margret brothers Bert, Robert and sister Maureen and many nieces and nephews.

 

Leslie was born in Nanaimo in 1937 and was raised on the family farm. He was the second-born child of Leslie and Hannah.

 

Les joined the Royal Canadian Navy as a cook and retired in 1982 as PO1. After retirement Les worked in the Beaufort Sea working as ships cook. He worked for the Canadian Coast Guard and finally as Head cook at the University of Victoria and finally retired in 2002. After retirement Les and his cocker spaniel, Maggie spent 100s hours a year volunteering at the Jack Brooks Hatchery in Sooke. Some of dad’s passions were fishing and gardening. As per dads wishes there will be no funeral or celebration of life. There will be a private family celebration later this summer.
