Died: 06 Apr 2023, Duncan, British Columbia

 

HOLLISTON, Sheila Curtis - passed away in Duncan, BC on April 6, 2023 at age 96 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Colleen Holliston, Susan Pelletier; son, Gordon Holliston (Michele); grandchildren: Nathan, Tanner and Kayla; niece, Joanne Manning as well as several great nieces and nephews. Sheila was predeceased by her husband, Robert Bruce Holliston (1994); infant grandson, Kordell Holliston (1993); and son-in-law, Rejean Pelletier (2022). Sheila was born on July 5, 1926 in Bassano, AB and in 1932 the family moved to Sidney, BC and remained there for 8 years until settling in Victoria. Sheila served in the WRCNS from 1944 - 1946 and was in Halifax for the VE Day Riots in May of 1945. She was a lifetime member of the Cowichan Valley Amateur Radio Society - call sign VE7DAX. Upon widowhood, Sheila was welcomed into the home of Rejean and Susan where she was very well cared for and continued to live there until her final days.
