John Frederick (Jack) Simpson

Died: 20 Feb 1995, London, Ontario

 

SIMPSON, John Frederick (Jack) - 67 years, at The University Hospital, London. Beloved husband of Thelma. Beloved father of David and Diana, Ingersoll, Jeff and Norma, Windsor, Alan, Vancouver, Jackie and Sean Moriarty, Windsor and Elaine and David, Toronto. Dear grandfather of Jennifer, Melissa, Rebecca, Jeffrey John, Stephanie and Seannaugh Simpson, all of Windsor, Laura, David and Dawn Simpson, all of London and Conor, Patrick and Liam Moriarty, all of Windsor and great-grandfather of Jillian. Dear son-in-law of Hilda Shepherd, London. Jack was a member of Branch # 12, Royal Canadian Legion and a member of the Iron Workers Local 700 and retired from the Office of the Worker Advisor. Friends may call at the Anderson Funeral Home, 895 Ouellette Ave. from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 23 at 9:15 a.m. to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in LaSalle for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. followed by cremation. Memorial donations may be made to the V.O.N. or Home Care. A Royal Canadian Legion Service under the Auspices of Branch #12 will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

 

John Simpson joined the RCNVR at HMCS Hunter on 07 Aug 1944, Windsor, Ontario, at the age of 17. After training he was assigned to HMCS DUNDAS. After the war John returned to Windsor, Ontario, where he spent most of his life until his passing.
