Died: 15 Dec 1995

 

 

LORY, Donald Clarence - Born Stony Plain, Alberta, October 16, 1929. Died December 15, 1995. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia; daughter Barbara and sons Doug, Michael and Stuart and their families including seven grandchildren; sisters Dorothy and Patricia and nieces and nephews. Don served in the Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Forces for 30 years including two tours in Korea on board HMCS Athabaskan and a tour in Cyprus with the United Nations. He was also a reporter for the Columbian and Vancouver Province newspapers and later served on the personal staff of two federal cabinet ministers in Ottawa and as a ministerial assistant in Victoria. The family wishes to thank Byron Price, Arthur Mebs and Phil Bissell for their unending support through this difficult time. No flowers by request but a donation to the Victoria Chapter of the ALS Society, 340 Foul Bay Road, Victoria, V8S 4G7 would be appreciated. A brief service will be held at the Protestant Chapel at CFB Esquimalt (Naden) on December 19 at 2 p.m.
