SCHNARE, Robert Raymond - 77, Lunenburg, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Lunenburg, he was a son of the late Derry and Mary Viola (Falkenham) Schnare. Robert served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War aboard the HMCS UGANDA in Japan and the Far East. After the war he joined the Merchant Marines and later worked for 36 years at National Sea Products, Lunenburg Division, until his retirement. He was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends who were so important in his life. He is survived by his wife, the former Frances Wamboldt; daughters, Janet and her husband William Latter and Valerie Grondin, both of Lunenburg; sisters, Betty and her husband Linwood Fraelic, Lilydale; Patsy and her husband John Hirtle, Clearland; Audrie and her husband Douglas Hill, Northwest; grandson, Derry, Middle Sackville. He was predeceased by stepsister, Margaret Mary Deal; stepbrother, Harry. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. 3, Lunenburg, from where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Irving Letto officiating. Interment will be in Martin's Brook Cemetery. Flowers from the immediate family only. Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to Equipment Fund of Intensive Care Unit of Health Services Foundation of the South Shore.
