BOUCHER, Leonard Joseph - 82, St. Peter's, Richmond Co. It is with great sadness that the family of Leonard Boucher announce his passing. Leonard passed away July 4, 2002, with his family by his side, in Strait Richmond Hospital, after a valiant battle with cancer. Leonard was the eldest son of the late Charles and Amelia (Sampson) Boucher.

He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Margaret (Joyce-Ridgley); sons, Brent (Helen), Bill (Barb); daughters, Helen, Cindy (Gerry); sister, Mary (Edwin); brother, Joseph (Emily); many nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Patty-Anne (Lloyd), Brett (Tina), Shawn (Becky) Rene, Nicole, Curtis, Darin and Sara; great-grandchildren, Jared, Jacob, Mykala, Breanna and Amelia.

He served in the Navy during the Second World War. He worked for many years and retired from the Canadian National Railway in Ontario. Upon retirement he returned to his beloved Cape Breton. He had a great love for the fiddle/harmonica and Scottish music of which he enjoyed playing at gatherings for his family and friends. He enjoyed working with wood and sharing his marvelous creations with others. He was a member of the Lions Club, St. Peter's, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 47, president of the Bonnie Brae Seniors Club, where he dedicated much of his time especially with its latest renovations. Leonard was a thoughtful, kind and cheerful man who enjoyed life. He made many friends throughout his life and you will be sadly missed Dad - "You truly are the wind beneath our wings, shine brightly to guide our way." We love you.
