William Schoenhals is buried in the Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery, Ridgeway, Ontario.
William's nephew, LS Donald Patterson, was one of 4 sailor who died onboard HMCS BONAVENTURE while cleaning the AVGAS tank, which had not been properly vented.
