WEBSTER, Frederick Charles, Sr. - It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father Frederick Charles Webster Sr. on November 21, 2023, in Halifax. He has been reunited with the love of his life and wife of 71 years Annette and is finally at rest. Dad started his working career in the Navy at a young age and after a short time decided to leave and become a police officer on the Toronto police force. While doing so he realized how much he missed the open sea and decided to return to the military, never looking back until he retired from the Navy in 1973 and began working in real estate. Dad was a very proud Korean War vet who witnessed a lot of things to which he still had nightmares. He served on many ships while being deployed to numerous places in the world. While doing so he made a promise to our mother that when he retired, they would travel the world together and revisit those same places as well as countless others. He kept that promise. In the early years he was known for his quick wit and amazing sense of humour. Fred was always the life of the party. Follow the laughter and you find Fred. Dad spent his last 18 months in Camp Hill Veterans Memorial, where his health slowly declined. We would like to thank the staff on the fourth floor West Wing for making his time there safe and comfortable. Special thanks to Brittney, Laura, Kristen, Sarah, Robert, Susie, and Kendra. Fred was predeceased by his wife, Annette and is survived by daughter, Darlene Adams (George); sons, Fred and Michael; as well as grandchildren, Christopher, Brian, Amber, Kaleigh, Erin, Tyler and Trinity along with four great-grandchildren, Aliah, Cole, Shae and Cruz as well as Keri Webb a loving friend and confidant to dad and the entire family. He will be forever missed. Cremation has taken place at his wish, and he will be laid to rest in a private service at a later date. (The Halifax Chronicle Herald 25 Nov 2023)
