WATSON, Henry James Michael - Passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at St. Joseph's Healthcare, Hamilton, Ontario.
Beloved husband of Clare Newdick for 71 years. Loving father of Jennifer Watson and Penny Watson. Dear brother of Joan Vanhee (late Achille) and the late Susan Burrill.
Mike retired from The Steel Company of Canada as Vice President, Finance, in 1985. He was a graduate of Hillfield School, Hamilton; Upper Canada College, Toronto; and McGill University, Montreal. Enlisted in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve and served overseas as lieutenant with the Royal Navy in World War II. Served on numerous charitable boards in Hamilton. Long-time member of the Hamilton Golf and Country Club (1940).
Visitation at Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home, Ancaster Chapel, 378 Wilson Street East, Ancaster (905-648-3852) on Thursday, March 16, 2017, from 10:30 a.m. until the celebration of Mike's life at 11:30 a.m. Reception to follow at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club, 232 Golf Links Road, Ancaster, Ontario. Cremation has taken place.
Flowers or memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
