Died: 11 Oct 2018, Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia

 

NORDIN, Wilfred Kenneth Wayne - of Mount Uniacke passed away in his home, at 76, on October 11, 2018.

 

Born in Halifax, NS, he was the son of Walter and Cecilia (Pottie) Nordin. Wayne retired from the Canadian Armed Forces after 36+ years of service, then for 15 years he ran his own barbershop in Mount Uniacke.

 

Wayne is survived by his wife Nancy (McGrath) of 56 years; son Ken (Nadine); daughters Marlane (Brian), Heidi, Jen; sisters Irene (Darrel), Janet (George); brothers Gary (Judy), Ernest (Brenda), Vincent; Grandchildren Michael, Alex, Mark Zoe, Daniel, lemma, and many nieces and nephews.

 

He is predeceased by his parents Walter and Cecilia, brothers Joseph, Donald, Karl, and sister Mary.

 

Over his lifetime, Wayne was many things to many people; son, brother, friend, loving husband, father, grandfather, confident, teacher, colleague, sailor, barber and jack of all trades. There wasn't much he didn't know, and nothing he wouldn't do for his loved ones. He left footprints on all of our hearts. He was dearly loved and will be missed by his family, extended family, Mary's girls, lifelong friends, friends in the community, and his Navy buddies.

A celebration of life service will be held at Atlantic Funeral Homes in Lower Sackville on October 16th, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Burial at Oakridge Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow at the Mt. Uniacke Legion.

 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Prostate Cancer Society or charity of choice.
