BAKER, Robert Lloyd (Bob) - of Porter’s Lake and originally from Amherst, was taken home by his Lord, Jesus, on Nov 2, 2023.

 

He was predeceased by his parents, Esther and Joseph “Joe” Baker; brother, Leonard; and sister-in-law, Louise. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia; daughter, Christine (Naugler); son, Brian; sister, Joan (Ripley); brothers, Benjamin “Benny” and Leigh; his six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

 

Bob joined the Royal Canadian Navy when he was a teenager and was employed there for 25 years. After retiring from the navy, he went on to work for Department of National Defence at the Halifax Dockyard. He had a love of cars and driving and after retiring from the dockyard, he went on to work for Adesa for 9 years before he finally retired from the work force. In his later years, he loved to spend his time at Camp Evangeline, where he volunteered faithfully. Donations may be made to Camp Evangeline, Debert, in his memory, to continue the work of the Lord.

 

There will be a graveside funeral in Musquodoboit Harbour Community Cemetery, 7966 Highway 7, Musquodoboit Harbour on Thursday Nov 9 at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in Lake Echo Fellowship Baptist Church, 17 Peter Court, Lake Echo, at 12:30 p.m. (Arimathea Funeral Cooperative)
