BROCK, George Melbourne OS ST, V67695, RCNVR, MPK - 21 Aug 1944, HMCS ALBERNI - Son of George Melbourne Brock and Gladys A. Brock, of St. Catharines, Ontario.

 

OS Brock died when his ship, HMCS ALBERNI, was torpedoed and sunk in the English Channel on 21 Aug 1944 by U-480, southeast of the Isle of Wight. Fifty-nine of her ship's company lost their lives.

HMCS STAR - Enlisted 06 Aug 1944.  Commenced Active Service 01 Sep 1943 as an Ordinary Seaman, RCNVR

HMCS CORNWALLIS - Drafted to CORNWALLIS 02 Nov 1943

HMCS BEAVER - Served in BEAVER 15 Jan - 21 Jan 1944 for training while drafted to CORNWALLIS

HMCS STADACONA - Drafted to STADACONA 26 Feb 1944
