COSGROVE, Canniff Timothy John AB, V64451, RCNVR MPK - 21 Aug 1944, HMCS ALBERNI - Son of Walter and Veronica Cosgrove, of Montreal, Quebec.

 

AB Cosgrove died when his ship, HMCS ALBERNI, was torpedoed and sunk in the English Channel on 21 Aug 1944 by U-480, southeast of the Isle of Wight. Fifty-nine of her ship's company lost their lives.

HMCS MONTREAL - Enlisted 21 Jun 1943.  Commenced Active Service 07 Jul 1943 as an Ordinary Seaman, RCNVR

HMCS CORNWALLIS - Drafted to CORNWALLIS 25 Aug 1943

HMCS CARIBOU - Served in CARIBOU 06-12 Nov 1943 for training while drafted to CORNWALLIS

HMCS STADACONA - Drafted to STADACONA 18 Dec 1943

HMCS ALBERNI - Drafted to ALBERNI 22 Apr 1944
