WATSON, Gerald Edward - With much love and great sadness we announce that Gerald (Jerry) Watson aged 79 years passed away peacefully on May 14, 2010 after a short battle with cancer. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Jackie, sons Brian (Cathy) and Bruce, daughter Brenda, grandson Sean, as well as many relatives and friends. Jerry proudly served his country for over 40 years in the Royal Canadian Navy, the Canadian Forces, and Transport Canada. Jerry started his career as a sailor, became a naval aviator serving in three aircraft carriers and many destroyers, and after retiring from the military finished his career as a pilot with Transport Canada. Jerry was fortunate to travel the world during his career and in his retirement with his loving wife. Jerry had fond memories of wintering in Arizona where he loved to golf and spend time with his many friends. Jerry loved his time on the ocean both during his career and in leisure and has requested that his remains be returned to the sea. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the British Columbia Cancer Foundation: 600-686 W. Broadway, Vancouver BC, V5Z1G1 1-888-906-2873 (The Ottawa Citizen 22 May 2010)
