Died: 17 Dec 2023, New Albany, Annapolis Co., Nova Scotia

 

KEARSLEY, James (Jim) - Age 70 of New Albany, Annapolis Co., passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, December 17, 2023, at home. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, he was a son of the late Charles and Margaret (Murray) Kearsley.

 

Jim had a wonderful career with the Canadian Armed Forces where he retired after 36 years as a Navy Cook. He had a knack for bringing people together. He enjoyed nothing more than gatherings with family and friends. Jim enjoyed entertaining and cooking for others, especially the wings.

 

He was a sports enthusiast, watching his favourite hockey, football and baseball games, where he cheered from the comforts of his living room. He was a die-hard Maple Leaf’s fan!

 

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Louise (Jarvis) Kearsley; son, Samuel (Sarah); daughter, LeeAnna (Tyler); grandchildren, Justin “J.J”, Savannah and Sammy; brothers, John (Mary), Raymond (Anne) and George; sisters, Margaret and Cheryl; brothers-in-law, Joe, Pat (Joanna) and Sam (Colleen); sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Pat), Monica (Gerald) and Laura (Albert). Numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by brothers, Chuck and Stewart; sister, Maureen.

 

Cremation has taken place. As per his wishes, there are no services at this time. He will be ceremoniously buried at sea with the Canadian Armed Forces at a future date. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the QEII Foundation. (Middleton Funeral Home)
