KAISER, James Augustus Josiah - 77, First South,, died October 8, 1996, in veterans unit of Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.

 

Born in Kingsburg, he was a son of the late Henry and Bertha (Ernst) Kaiser.

 

In his earlier years, he worked as a fisherman and then served with the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War.

 

Later he worked as a diesel fitter at Lunenburg Foundry & Engineering Ltd. for approximately 30 years.

 

He was an adherent of First South United Church, member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23, Lunenburg, and Rising Sun Lodge 59 IOOF, Lunenburg, for 56 years.

 

Surviving are daughters, Peggy (Mrs. George Boudreau), Upper LaHave; Julianne (Mrs. Mack Duffas), Dartmouth; sons, Terry, First South; Dwayne, Lower LaHave; brother, William, Rose Bay; seven grandchildren.

 

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Marie S. Long; grandson, Andre; sister, Mary; brothers, John, George.

 

Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg.

 

Funeral 2 p.m. Friday in First South United Church, First South, Rev. Robyn Brown-Hewitt officiating. Burial in First South Cemetery.
