HUYCKE, Joy Lorraine (née WEBBER) - With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our cherished mother, Joy Lorraine Huycke.  Finally, reunited with her beloved husband, Hank. They were married for 51 years and met as undergraduates at the University of Toronto.

Predeceased by parents, Madeline Castel and John Webber. Already missed by her daughters, Gaye (Mike), Candy and son, Drew. Much loved grandmother of Emily (Scott), Nathan, Max, Martin and great-grandmother of Charles. She will also be missed by family, George, Elaine, Marion, Kerry (Steve), Jasmine (Lionel) and Christina (Kevin) and her dear friends, Erane Bocking and Barb Varrin.

Joy was a veteran of the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service and proudly served our Country during World War II. A true patriot, in peace time Mom continued to tirelessly serve her community including her time as president of the York-Finch Volunteer Association.

Joy and Hank were both Bridge Masters and we know that they have just bid and made 7NT at their cottage in the sky. They're probably celebrating with a rum and coke, surrounded by their various four-legged friends.

Memorial Gathering will be held at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge St., at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. A private family service ceremony will be held at a later date.

If desired, donations may be made to a charity of your choice (The Globe and Mail 30 May 2016)
