FEAREY, Charles Edgar, OS, 3251, RCN, MPK - 22 Oct 1940, HMCS MARGAREE - Son of Charles Edgar and Lillian Fearey, of Regina, Saskatchewan.

 

Ordinary Seaman Fearey died when his ship, HMCS MARGAREE, was struck by the freighter SS Port Fairy while in convoy and was sunk. 143 of her crew were lost, 86 of them were survivors of HMCS FRASER.  

 

Charles Fearey attended Scott Collegiate and was a student when he enlisted on October 03, 1938 as a boy seaman at Esquimalt, BC.
