LANOUETTE, Roland J. (Frenchy) - Passed away in Owen Sound, Ontario on July 3, 2025. Born July 27, 1935 in Old Montreal, Quebec one of 14 children.

He studied to become a tool and die maker at Vickers in Montreal. Roland joined the Canadian Navy serving on loan to the British Navy in Submarines. He was part of the Canadian 2nd Block Draft to the UK in 1954. He was presented to the Queen twice. He found his love for submarines, forming many lifelong friendships. He met his wife, Beverley, and started his family raising 3 children. After 10 years of serving his country, he lived in Mississauga until retiring to Orillia.

Predeceased by his daughter Karen, he leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Beverley, his son Frank and his wife Diane, along with other family and friends.

The family would like to thank for the care Roland received over the last few years with Owen Sound Gardens, Brightshore Health System and Southbridge LTC. Roland did not want a service. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

I will miss my hero, my mentor and best friend. I love you Dad. I am proud of you.

Heaven will love you and your sense of humour.
